Meet the worlds first ubuntu phone!
Mobile phone maker BQ, also the manufacturer of world’s first Ubuntu phone is now making the phone available in US.
This affordable smartphone , Aquarius E5 Ubuntu Edition is loaded with 5” Capacitive multi-touch screen with 5 simultaneous-detection points, 13 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual flash,16 GB internal memory with MicroSD slot for extra storage (up to 32GB), 1GB of RAM , Dragon trail glass for scratch and impact resistance, Slots for two micro-SIM cards for phone use across multiple networks and Full HD (1080p) camera for super-sharp video recording for only a web price of just €199.90 or ~ $220.
If this price looks out of your budget then there is a 4.5’’ smaller model at a fair price of €169.90 or ~ $186.
There is something to be aware of if you are planning to buy these phones in U.S, these phones are not fully compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. These phones do not support the HSPA+ bands used by these carriers, so you’re only going to get 2G data instead of fast 4G LTE.
Having said that these phones are expected to work fine on Wi-Fi but will have extremely low speed video streaming and download speed.
