World's first Ubuntu phone

Yes it’s time now for Ubuntu phone to compete with the likes of Android and iOS. Ubuntu is clean, powerful and a very convenient operating system, which is now entering into mobile world with its first phone named as Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition.

This phone is manufactured in collaboration with Spanish company BQ. This mid-range budget phone features a 4.5 inch capacitive touch screen with qHD (540 x 960 Pixels) resolution.

The Aquaris E4.5 is powered by MediaTek Quad core Cortex A7 processor which is clocked at 1.3 GHz along with Graphics processor Mali 400. This phone has 1 GigaByte of RAM. The internal storage will be of 8 GB and will be expandable with microSD card.

It sports a 8 Mega Pixel auto focus main camera and a 5 Mega Pixel shooter in front. It packs a 2150mAh Li ion non removable battery.

Coming to the Ubuntu OS, it is going to be based on gestures. The notification bar, app drawer and multitasking menu all looks similar to the other competing mobile platforms.

The main feature here is the ability to give the relevant contextual information, including reviews of nearby places, news and etc.

This Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition will be sold online via flash sale in Europe and it is expected to be priced around 170 Euros.

Along with BQ, some other Chinese firms also expected to release this Ubuntu flavored phones soon in the market.
